Crispy Spiced Chickpeas

Crispy chickpeas coated with warm Mediterranean spices perfect for snacking! Add some flavor and texture to your entrée by sprinkles them on top.

Crispy chickpeas coated with warm Mediterranean spices perfect for snacking! Add some flavor and texture to your entrée by sprinkles them on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas rinsed and dried off with a kitchen towel.

  • 2 tsp avocado or olive oil.

  • 1 tsp ground tumeric.

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.

  • 1 tsp Lebanon Seven Spices (allspice, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, galangal).

  • 1/2 tsp salt.

  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper.

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. You can skip this step if you don’t mind cleaning a very messy sheet pan.

  • Combine oil, spices and chickpeas in a medium bowl.

  • Toss chickpeas in oil and spices until fully coated.

  • Spread on sheet pan so there is a little space in between the chickpeas.

  • Bake for about 30 minutes, toss the chickpeas around half way through the cooking process to make sure they get fully crispy.

  • Enjoy hot right out of the oven for peak crispiness. As they cool they start to get a little chewy and still delicious!
