Air Fryer Parmesan Kale Chips

Yield: 4 Servings / Level: Easy

Prep Time: 10 mins / Cook Time: 10 mins / Total Time: 20 mins

Light, crispy, and by far my favorite way to eat kale. Only 10 minutes in the air fryer and it’s the perfect salty, cheesy snack! Not to mention kale is a superfood loaded with calcium, potassium, copper, manganese, vitamin A, C, and B6.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of kale (about 1 pound)

  • Avocado oil spray

  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method:

  • Remove stems from kale and discard.

  • Tear kale into desired chip-size pieces.

  • Rinse kale to remove any dirt and place on a kitchen towel or paper towels and pat dry.

  • Give the kale a light spritz of the avocado oil spray. If you do not have the spray, you could use oil and a brush. Any high temperature oil, such as canola, will work.

  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese onto the kale.

  • Set your air fryer temperature to 280°F and the time for 10 minutes.

  • Once air fryer is preheated, spray the inside of the basket with oil and add kale.

  • Make sure Kale is spread evenly in the basket and let cook until the air fryer tells you to turn food.

  • After 7 minutes, my air fryer instructs me to “turn food,” at this stage move the kale around with tongs to ensure even cooking.

  • Continue to cooking for 3 more minutes.

  • When finished cooking, carefully dump kale from the basket onto a serving dish. I recommend pouring them onto the dish instead of using tongs, as they are incredibly crispy and fragile.

  • Eat them right away as they are at their crispiness right out of the air fryer.

  • You can store them in an airtight container for up to 1 day.

Enjoy!
